Clergy
There are currently two priests here at St. Peters:
Fr. John Cross
Parish Priest
Fr. John Cross was born in Keynsham near Bristol. A year or so later his family moved to Harrow in Northwest London where he grew up and attended school.
Before training for the Priesthood, Fr. John worked for the Careers Service helping school leavers to find a job or vocational training. He also qualified as a teacher of English and History at the Secondary School level and taught at schools in London and the Midlands. He has an Honours Degree in English and History, a Post Graduate Certificate of Education and the Catholic Teacher’s Certificate.
Fr. John was inducted as Parish Priest of St. Peter Apostle Catholic Church in 2006. He trained for the Priesthood at the Pontificio Collegio Beda in Rome and was ordained in 1993. His first appointment was as assistant to Fr. Gwinnett in this same church from 1993 to 1996. He spent two further years in training as Assistant at St Dunstan’s in Kings Heath before being appointed Parish Priest with responsibility for the two parishes of St. Wulstan and St. Thomas of Canterbury in Stourport-on-Severn and The Holy Family Church in Bewdley, Worcestershire.
Fr. Roger Peck
Assistant Priest
Fr Roger Peck was born in Hall Green, Birmingham and at the age of five moved to Halesowen. He went to Our Lady and St. Kenelm’s Primary School, Hagley RC High School and sixth form and then went to Warwick University; graduating with a degree in Maths and Physics. After University he worked in the computer industry as a Programmer and in Support; first in Swindon and then in Milton Keynes.
Fr. Roger trained at St Mary’s College Oscott for six years before being Ordained Deacon on 27th June 2009 on the Feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour. Fr. Roger took up his first appointment at St. Peter the Apostle, Leamington Spa in September 2009 and was Ordained Priest on 24th January 2010 by the Most Reverend Bernard Longley.
