Gift Aid Scheme
Do you pay income tax on your earnings, pension or savings?
If so have you signed a Gift Aid Certificate so that the Parish can claim tax back from the Inland Revenue?
Gift Aid is a simple scheme whereby 28p for every £1 you give can be claimed from the Government and all you have to do is spend a few minutes of your time filling in a Gift Aid form (forms are also available from the Parish Office or myself). Once signed this lasts indefinitely, though should you need to you, say if you were leaving the Parish or becoming a non-taxpayer, you can rescind it at any time.
Gift Aid donors are given each year in March boxes of envelopes in which to put their weekly offering. If you wish you can make a Bankers Standing Order for a weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly amount.
Signing up to Gift Aid does not affect your own tax position unless you are a Higher Rate tax payer when the Basic Rate tax band will be increased by the amount of Gift Aid you pay.
Please join the Gift Aid Scheme as soon as you can.
