Schools
Among the parishes in the Diocese, St. Peter's is unique in having not one but three excellent Primary Schools and a Secondary School as well. The educational needs of the children in the Parish are served by St. Peter's, St. Patrick's and St. Anthony's Primary Schools and Trinity Secondary School. Subject to applying for a place in good time, the new intake of children in each school can accommodate all the Catholic children of the Parish.
Each Catholic School in the Parish is voluntary-aided. Part of its funding comes from the Diocese and the rest from the Local Education Authority. The schools are governed by volunteers drawn from the interested parties: the Parish/Diocese (foundation governors), the LEA, the school staff and the parents. A Governor is a critical friend to the school. All Governors are CRB checked and approved by the Diocese.
